Chapter Cheers!
Description
The Day of German Beer is on April 23rd. On this date it was established that beer may be made from only exactly four ingredients: Water, malt, hops and yeast. Nevertheless, there are many different varieties, in every city and region preferences are a little different.
With summer just around the corner, the beer garden is once again a popular meeting place - even for people who prefer to drink something else.
More information about how beer is made and why it was historically considered a "food" can be found in our Presse und Sprache reading text. It is suitable for learners at level B 1.
