Description

For centuries the fantasy world of fairy tales has fascinated people. Among the most famous fairy tales in the world are those of the Grimm brothers. Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm published the first volume of the tales they had collected in 1812 and the second in 1815 under the title "Children's and Household Tales". To date, these fairy tales have been translated into more than 170 languages and cultural dialects.
The Gimm brothers are not the only ones who have published exciting fairy tales for young and old. Other well-known representatives of this genre include Wilhelm Hauff, E.T.A. Hoffmann,  Novalis, Ludwig Tieck and Ludwig Bechstein. This material provides an overview of the genre and its most important representatives.
