Chapter LINGO Global issue 2: Living healthy

Health is very important for the whole world and for all people. The COVID 19 pandemic shows us that. The virus has been dominating our lives for over two years. It has consequences for physical and mental health. Many people are afraid of infection. The long isolation without friends was bad. But medicine and technology have made great strides in the last 250 years. We now know a lot more about diseases and how to cure them. There are already many vaccines against COVID-19. Doctors also know what is good for people psychologically. Lingo Global provides answers to many questions: What exactly is health? How do we stay healthy? We asked exactly: How did young people experience the pandemic? What is it like for them now? The magazine also gives tips against bad moods and for more joy in life.

The learning objectives are: 

• vocabulary building and expansion on the topic of health
• learning the facts about health and the ways how to preserve it. The focus is on covid-19. 
• gaining the knowledge about pandemics and discussing their consequences for the human´s health
• creating a mindmap and using it for structuring own thoughts
