Students explore the significance of Earth Day, reflect on their own everyday behavior, and learn how simple actions, such as cycling, can contribute to protecting the environment.

Description
The current U-Häppchen invites learners to approach the topic step by step. They describe and interpret a poster, build vocabulary related to the environment and sustainable mobility, and apply it in various tasks. A social media post provides an authentic context and supports reading comprehension as well as critical engagement with environmental messages.
A creative task completes the material: students develop their own project ideas for Earth Day, for example focusing on sustainable transport, reducing waste, or conscious consumption, and present them in the form of an Instagram post. In this way, the topic becomes not only linguistically accessible, but also action-oriented, creative, and relevant to students’ everyday lives.
