Open Studios with Aron Lodi and Mark Cinkevich
Open Studios at MeetFactory invites the public to step inside the creative process of artists currently in residence. Among them are Áron Lodi and Mark Cinkevich.
Aron Lodi is a Hungarian artist based in the Netherlands and a resident of the project DATAS: The Data and the Sovereign. Lodi’s multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture, image-making, writing, publishing, and curatorial collaboration. His work weaves together elements of horror and hope, forming layered narratives that question personal and collective agency in the context of today’s global crises. Further details about Áron Lodi and his residency can be found here: Aron Lodi - DATAS: The Data and the Sovereign - Goethe-Institut. Both DATAS artists-in-residence - Mark Cinkevich and Áron Lodi -will conclude their time at MeetFactory just two days after the Open Studios event. As such, this occasion offers a rare preview of their nearly completed works before they are publicly unveiled at a collaborative exhibition at Galerie Rudolfinumin June 2026. The Open Studios event includes curated introductions led by MeetFactory curators Tereza Havelkovaand Katerina Pencova, who will provide an overview of the residency programme - its purpose, structure, and the artistic and production processes involved. In addition, a new exhibition at the MeetFactory Gallery will be opening during the evening.
Again, the Belarusian artist and researcher Marek Cinkevich will present his work. During his residency, he explores how authoritarian regimes – specifically the Belarusian one – use algorithms, technologies, and data to control society. His project focuses on “non-combat imagery”– ways in which power operates without direct violence, using surveillance systems, internet shutdowns, or state databases. Cinkevich combines art and research to reveal the hidden mechanisms of digital surveillance and emerging forms of power. He sees Belarus as a laboratory of authoritarian technologies– ones that could become a reality elsewhere in Europe as well.
