Simurgh Centre in New Delhi

In March 2022, filmmaker Zamarin Wahdat conducted a two-day workshop with members of the Afghan community living in Khirkee, a town in south Delhi. They shot four short films using only mobile phones. Here are these "Khirkee Stories", portraits of Delhi's streets and residents from the perspective of the Afghan community.

On 02. July at 4 pm Zamarin Wahdat will give an introduction to the project "Khirkee Stories". You can find more information here:

SIMURGH CENTRE IN NEW DELHI

The mythical bird Simurgh appears in stories and legends in both India and Afghanistan, symbolising search, renewal, creativity and connection. The Simurgh Centre brings these ideas to projects in New Delhi and is a space for creative projects, cultural work and collaborations. It supports artistic exchange and collaboration between Afghan, Indian and German cultural practitioners. The project primarily supports Afghans living in Delhi and connects to audiences and discourse around the world.
