The performance
Clausa fores provides an insight into the psyche of a person with unlimited power. The performative action with elements of an opera exposes the nature of tyranny and its destructive effects on the individual and society. The inspiration for the performance comes from reflections on the self-sufficiency of dictatorship and the paradoxical role we play by powerlessly observing its development as well as its inevitable end. The viewer can only passively observe further steps in the realisation of the last will of the autocrat, who reverently completes the ritual circles of everyday life, enjoying unlimited power and control over life and death.
