The exciting post-reunification years that defined her childhood are long gone. Her relationship is loveless, and she keeps the cherry liqueur close at hand. In the shimmering heat of summer, time seems to stand still—until 46-year-old wind energy engineer, Klaus, arrives.

Based on the eponymous novel by Alina Herbing (2017).

“There is this landscape between Hamburg and Berlin where you find yourself in this parallel existence of anarchy, patriarchy, and the familiar smell of slurry tankers. That fascinated me right away.” (Director Sabrina Sarabi)
