ROUTEs TO WEIMAR

Travelling by train to Weimar
There are regular long-distance connections to Weimar main station via Erfurt. Regional trains run between Erfurt-Jena, Eisenach-Halle and Göttingen-Zwickau. You can find further information on the website of Deutsche Bahn.

NOTE: On 22 June there will be restrictions in rail traffic due to construction work. The Weimar - Frankfurt route is particularly affected. Please check online in advance for possible changes to the timetable.
 

Travelling by car to Weimar 

>> Highway A4 (Frankfurt am Main – Dresden): Exit 49 „Weimar“ → 5 km to city center
>> Highway A9 (Berlin – München): Am Hermsdorfer Kreuz on A4 direction Jena / Erfurt / Frankfurt am Main → ca. 40 km to exit 49 „Weimar“
>> Highway A71 (Schweinfurt – Sömmerda): At Erfurter Kreuz on A4 direction Jena / Dresden → ca. 25 km to exit 49 „Weimar“
>> Bundesstraße B7 (Kassel-Erfurt-Gera) or Bundesstraße B85 (Kyffhäuser-Bayreuth)

 

GETTING AROUND IN WEIMAR

By Public Transport
