Koffi Mensah, an autodidact visual artist was born in Lomé, Togo, in 1982. For years he underwent numerous training workshops in Accra, Abidjan, Niamey and Cotonou. Besides the influences of his mentors or elders such as Ousmane Sow and El Anatsui, he is inspired by nature. He creates figurative art and portraits. Koffi Mensah is a spiritual person, instinct has a capital impact on his art. He realised several institutional artworks such as the portrait of Burkina Faso’s first President, Maurice Yaméogo. In 2018 he received the Grand Prix du Dessin d’art in Burkina Faso.
