Kokou Azamede is a Togolese historian. He teaches at the University of Lomé (Togo) at the Institute of German Studies with a focus on Cultural Studies. His research focuses on transcultural studies, German missionary and colonial history in West Africa. Besides he did research on colonial photography as part of the research project: Blickwinkel und Dekonstruktion des imperialen Auges. Kolonialfotografie als Quelle zur afrikanischen Geschichte am Beispiel Togos. One of his publications is: Transkulturationen? Ewe-Christen between Germany and West Africa, 1884–1939.
