Nicola Brandt is an artist from Namibia. Her work engages with innovative documentary and performance practices in relationship to the role of memory, landscape, power and positionality. She has presented her work internationally at various private and public institutions. Brandt also lectures on histories of photography and contemporary art and has been an artist-in-residence at a number of institutes. She is currently a visiting professor at the University of Bayreuth’s Institute of African Studies and the Iwalewahaus. Brandt has a doctorate in Fine Art from the University of Oxford.
