The role of museums, Colonial legacy
Dr. Ziva Domingos is an Angolan museologist. As Director of the National Museums of Angola, he is responsible for the development of the UNESCO World Heritage Site M'Banza Congo (Zaire Province). From 2005, he was the first president of the museum department at the École du Patrimoine Africain in Porto Novo (Bénin). Between 2001 and 2003 he coordinated the UNESCO project "Rehabilitation and Promotion of the Angolan Cultural Heritage" in Angola and was actively involved in the nomination of the former capital of the Congo Kingdom, M'banza Congo, as Angola's first UNESCO World Heritage Site.
