Malcolm Ohanwe is a multimedia journalist of Bayerischer Rundfunk. For his radio reports he travels around the world: whether to Detroit, the 20 million metropolis of Lagos or the Swabian Sonthofen. His television films often include topics such as homophobia in religious communities or lyrics glorifying violence in German rap music, his radio plays often centre on feminism, (every day) racism, cultural identity and belonging. In 2019 he was awarded the International Music Journalism Award and Medium Magazin listed him as one of the best journalists up to the age of 30. Together with Marcel Nadim Aburakia, he publishes the podcast “Kanackische Welle”, in which questions of identity in the immigration country Germany are asked in an entertaining way. He moderates the show Respect for ARD alpha.
