Sila has been on the forefront of utilizing new and emerging technologies to accelerate the social and economic development in his home country.
He is co-founder of Eguitel Communications (the 1st ISP created in the country), SITEC (Sila Technologies) and INEP (National Research Institute).
He is the author of four novels Eterna Paixão, A Última Tragédia, Mistida and Memórias Somanticas, as well as two plays As Orações de Mansata and Dois Tiros e Uma Gargalhada. He has also written short stories and several scientific articles on Energy, Telecommunications, Appropriated Technology and Education.
Sila holds a master degree in electrical engineering from the Technische Universitaet Dresden, was senior visiting fellow of the University of Maryland in 2005. He currently serves as President of the Guinea Bissau Writers Associations and as Regional Botschafter of the Technische Universitaet Dresden. He has been distinguished with several professional awards, among which Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in 2013.
