Sara Torres is a French culture manager. She is involved in international cooperation projects and intercultural associations. She is currently working as a coordinator at the Institut des Afriques, which was founded in 2015 and is located in Bordeaux (France). She organises various multidisciplinary events that are dedicated to the African world and geared towards the general public in Nouvelle Aquitaine, for example festivals, meet-ups, stage productions and conferences. The Institut des Afriques serves as a liaison between the areas of culture and knowledge, aiming to address current questions relating to decolonisation of the arts and of thought, memory and coexistence – as well as running activities involving cultural cooperation on an international scale.
