Shadi is a guitarist, composer, singer and songwriter from Palestine. Born in exile, raised in Damascus, Beirut, Amman and Tunis.
His songs are inspired by the daily lives of the Palestinians and produced for the common citizen. He writes his lyrics in classical Arabic, colloquial and Bedouin dialects from poems of Palestinian and other Arab poets. His first album “About a Country” was released in 2008, the second album “Singing at the Checkpoint” in 2013.

The building belongs to the Ottoman reign (ca. 400 years old) and it used to be part of the adjacent „Ottoman Court“. It used to be the first Lieutenant’s office and an interigation room. After being abbandond for several years the Palestinian artists and sculpturer Jalal Dabeet used it as a private gallery till the year 2004. Later on it became a café and a place where artists used to gather. Now its La Grotta, a café and bar full of music at the heart of the old city of Ramallah.
