Simurgh Festival Retrospective

Simurgh Festival © Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan The Simurgh Festival, a three day spring celebration and exploration of ‘Journeys’, saw performances, conversations and collaborations between Afghan, German and Indian artists. 
 
The varied series of events we hosted included a conversation with award-winning filmmaker Zamarin Wahdat, storytelling and shadow puppetry, an exploration of Afghan visual culture with artist and curator Moshtari Hilal, workshops and sessions on food and migration, calligraphy and kite flying​, and a closing concert with JISR, the music collective from Munich.
