Food from the Forest: Aat Aser

الجامعة والعامة

This short documentary film concerns the food foraging traditions of marginalized tribal populations in Bihar, India, through a focus upon the women's Muskan Village Organisation. This film was made as part of the CHIRAG 'Sustainable Food Systems' project in India and its content became particularly relevant with the advent of Covid, when markets were closed and tribal populations needed to learn how to return to old systems of food collection/production in order to survive. While this film is mainly concerned with the
preservation/education of traditional foraging knowledge and good nutrition, it also touches on issues surrounding the environment and climate change.
