November - December

1st Edition
"Humboldt y las Américas" is the theme season organized by the German Federal Foreign Office and the Goethe-Institut in Latin America on the occasion of Alexander von Humboldt's 250th anniversary. Involved are all those countries where Humboldt has stopped on his travels or in which he is valued and his research is received. Events of various formats are not just about his person and his work, but also about his heritage, such as sustainability, transdisciplinarity, the transfer of knowledge or the coexistence of cultures.

The Science Film Festival will be held for the first time in Latin America as part of the thematic year in cooperation with ComKids presenting a selection of exciting science films for all ages taking up Humboldt's approaches and themes in the present. Screenings can be visited in the participating Goethe-Instituts and at schools, universities and other educational institutions during the festival period. Please contact your local Goethe-Institut in Latin America for more information.
