"Warm Bath" – A Solar Heater Developed by Xochitl

Third-grader Xóchitl Guadalupe Cruz López, who lives in the Mayan area in the South of Mexico is only eight years old but has already made history in her home country: In March 2018, she became the first girl to receive the "Recognition of the Institute of Nuclear Science for Women", an award usually given to adults by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), for developing a solar water heater from recycled materials, to help the environment and people with low income. She first installed the solar water heater on the roof of her house, with the help of her father, and is now looking for support from universities.
