Sarah Diehl is a Berlin-based writer, filmmaker, and activist whose work spans politics, literature, and human rights. She has spent over 15 years working to advance reproductive rights around the world, creating the award-winning documentary film Abortion Democracy – Poland/South Africa.

Her latest books include Die Freiheit, allein zu sein (The Freedom to Be Alone), which explores how solitude can empower individuals against societal pressures, and Die Uhr, die nicht tickt, an examination of women’s reproductive choices. She is currently writing a narrative non-fiction book about underwater worlds, due for release in 2026. Through her creative and activist projects, Diehl continues to advocate for autonomy, gender equality, and social justice, using storytelling to challenge traditional norms and inspire new perspectives on gender roles and human rights.
