Magic Hour - A New Zealand-German culinary dialogue

German chef Helge Hagemann of the chef collective Werteköche teams up with renowned chef Monique Fiso who just opened her first restaurant called HIAKAI in a one-of-a-kind dinner aiming to highlight New Zealand-German collaboration.

“The Magic Hour” is an elaborate three-course dinner prepared by the two chefs. It features elements of both New Zealand and German cuisines and is the result of months’ long preparation and planning. The chefs will be present at the event where they will talk about their collaborative process and experiences with each other’s cuisines.
 
“The Magic Hour” is part of a region-wide project organized by the Goethe-Institut in partnership with the Werteköche group. Aside from Helge Hagemann, other German chefs will be doing similar events in Bangkok, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Sydney.
