This workshop is conducted by iRights.Lab and Emmett/ Lena Rickenberg, Michael Puntschuh.

May it be the public transport timetables or the places for shared mobility: Mobility infrastructure is designed around the needs of working men, because the data these designs are based on are collected mostly from and by men. When Machine Learning is trained on such incomplete data, its output will become discriminatory. A feedback loop can develop, ultimately leading to mobility which doesn’t serve everyone’s needs.
In this workshop we will look at examples of the Gender Data Gap in mobility and beyond. Together we will analyze the reasons of why a data gap is present and design countermeasures on how to prevent these in the future. We will also discuss how these considerations ultimately lead to larger questions on the future of mobility. We will put together our results to develop common best practices.

This workshop is aimed at the participants of the summer school and will not be available online.
