Stephanie Hankey is the co-founder and Executive Director of the Tactical Technology Collective, a Berlin-based organization that has worked internationally to help NGOs, journalists and activists improve their tech-savvy skills since 2003. She writes and teaches about technology, data, ethics and design. She has worked with the Open Society Institute, as editor-in-chief of Pulp, and as a creative director and producer for a number of London-based multimedia companies. She is also the co-founder of the Tactical Studios creative agency, the co-curator of the “Nervous Systems: Quantified Life and the Social Question” exhibition and the co-curator of “The Glass Room”. In 2013, she was awarded an Ashoka Fellowship for her work as a social entrepreneur, was an affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University in 2016/2017 and was named a visiting industry associate at the Oxford Internet Institute at the University of Oxford in 2017.
