Oyunga Pala

Oyunga Pala is a Kenyan journalist and cultural critic. He is the former Curator-in-chief of The Elephant, a platform for dialogue in pursuit of truth and re-imagination of state and society. Oyunga was a newspaper columnist for Kenya’s Daily Nation newspaper for over ten years where he was committed to storytelling with a focus on the impact of modernity on African society.

His intellectual work is multi-disciplinary and advances an investigation that remaps the African world beyond geographical boundaries. As a writer-activist, he is also committed to chronicling and amplifying the environmentalism of the poor. Oyunga is currently based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
