In the historic ebb and flow of emotions, trust is currently experiencing an astonishing upswing. Once an attitude towards loved ones – people who were concerned for our security and welfare – trust in modern times has become a leitmotif of social action. The notion of trust is so inflationary today, not only in the world of “sharing and exchange,” that its edges are often blurred. How can we comprehend trust today, what moral expectations accompany trust as affective attitudes and where is the line between business sense and human empathy?
