Perspective on Change

OPEN CALL: A.R.T. – Artist in Residence Tetovo

A.R.Tetovo is a new residency program open for visual artists based in Germany, willing to engage in the political and social context offered by the city of Tetovo and its social live through their work and in collaboration with young local artists.

The Residency program is planned at the organization LOJA in fall 2017, starting in November for the period of one month. LOJA will host artists working with photography, video, new media, installation and specific interventions in public space. LOJA provides accommodation, studio space and basic equipment. For special needs and extra equipment we will try to provide the best solution according to the artist’s need.

A.R.T: gives artists the opportunity to develop new ideas and to experiment with their previous work in a totally different environment: Tetovo in Western Macedonia is a rather small but vibrant place. The established art-scene is non-existent but the young and growing off-scene make this place an inspiring spot for political and socially influenced art works. The cities of Skopje and Pristina are close, in recent years more and more visitors, artists and curators of the capitals were attracted by ongoing events in Tetovo. The aim of A.R.T. is to allow artists to work in a new, pure and unexplored environment, to share, develop and discuss new visions and ideas with local artists and to present the results in a show at the end of the stay.
