Rory MacLean meets Gloria Zein

Over 50 years the Goethe-Institut London has contributed to the UK’s cultural life, initiating, hosting and supporting thousands of German - and Anglo-German - projects. This summer alone Tino Sehgal will present a newly commissioned work for the Turbine Hall at the Tate Modern. The Barbican will host Bauhaus: Art as Life, the biggest UK exhibition of the design school’s work in a generation. And German artists Thomas Schütte and Hans-Peter Feldmann will have shows at the Serpentine Gallery. All these projects are supported by the Institut, which is also celebrating both the anniversary and the re-opening of its Exhibition Road headquarters, with a bold and imaginative original work by Gloria Zein.More ...
