Jukwaani! - Festival for Performance Literature

Welcome to Jukwaani – a three day festival of literature as performance, organzied by Goethe-Institut Nairobi and Alliance Française de Nairobi. The festivals shows the whole range of performative literature: from the distinguished Swahili poets to the slam poets, from Swahili free style to the urban poets in Nairobi, from traditional story tellers to the rapppers and hip hoppers. It is one of the first occasions such an interchange between word artists who all share a focus on performance occurs. Some of the most prominent Kenyan poets and performers take part in this festival.
