We foster bilateral cultural exchange programmes between Germany and the Philippines. We initiate film series, exhibitions, seminars and festivals, always with the goal to facilitate artistic production, reception and reflection involving actors from both countries.

    Science Film Festival

    The Science Film Festival is a celebration of science communication in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America: In cooperation with local partners it promotes science literacy and facilitates awareness of contemporary scientific, technological and environmental issues through international films with accompanying educational activities.

    Punla at Binhi: Butoh Workshop Series

    Punla at Binhi is a capacity-building initiative and community mapping project that brings Butoh into regional communities through a lecture workshop tour. This is the first national effort of its kind to plant the seeds of Butoh network in the Philippines, and it also serves as the preparatory movement toward the Asia Butoh Gathering 2026.

    Goethe on Demand

    On Goethe on Demand, the streaming platform of the Goethe-Institut, we present a variety of online film programs, film festivals and film series that can be streamed from home. More information about the alternating film series can be found here. The films are presented in original language with subtitles. They are accessible online and free of charge after registration.

  • Filipino Perforamance Platform

    Performance Ecologies

    Performance Ecologiesis an innovative initiative designed to support Filipino artists working in performance art, dance, and theater. It offers a dynamic space for participants to develop, test, and present their creative work to a diverse and engaged audience. With a focus on fostering artistic experimentation and dialogue, the project encourages works that challenge traditional formats, explore new ways of engaging audiences, and address contemporary social, cultural, and political issues.

    The DokuTheater Workshop is a collaboration between the Goethe-Institut and renowned German theater makers Regine Dura and Hans-Werner Kroesinger, exploring the process of theater making through archival materials.

  • Bauhaus.Listening Workshop #2 Sagada/Manila

    Listening to the World – 100 Years of Radio

    This 2023, radio in Germany turns 100 years old. To mark this anniversary, the project "Listening to the World - 100 Years of Radio" has been launched as a cooperation between the "Experimental Radio" at the Bauhaus University Weimar, the Goethe-Institut, Deutschlandfunk Kultur and the House of World Cultures.
