Hirayama seems utterly content with his simple life as toilet cleaner in Tokyo. Outside of his very structured everyday routine, he enjoys his passion for music and books. He also loves trees and taking photos of them. A series of unexpected encounters gradually reveal more of his past. Perfect Days competed for the Palme d’Or at Cannes, and won the Jury Prize and Best Actor. It is this year’s Japanese entry for Best International Feature at the Oscars.
