New technologies are transforming a 19th-century watchmaking town in Switzerland. Josephine, a young factory worker, produces the unrest wheel, swinging in the heart of the mechanical watch. Exposed to new ways of organizing money, time and labour, she gets involved with the local movement of the anarchist watchmakers, where she meets Russian traveller Pyotr Kropotkin.

Cyril Schäublin was born in 1984 in Zurich, Switzerland. He studied filmmaking in Beijing, Berlin and Paris. 2012 Receives degree from DFFB (Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin), directing department. His debut feature THOSE WHO ARE FINE (2017) premiered in Locarno. The film screened at festivals in Rotterdam, New York, Shanghai, among others, and was awarded Best Film at Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2018. The film was nominated for the European Film Awards 2018. His second feature UNREST (2022) premiered at the Berlinale 2022, where the film wins the award for the Best Director in the Encounters section. Cyril Schäublin lives and works in Zurich.
