Pro-Deutsch!

Advocate and stay alive!
Promoting a German program is both a challenge and an opportunity. Today, learning languages is as important as ever, and convincing the powers that be to back these efforts is equally as essential.
Pro-Deutsch! provides numerous and various kinds of resources, supporting arguments that will resonate with the people a German educator needs to convince most: present and prospective students, as well as parents and school administrators. The content is current, effective and teacher-generated.

Above all, German educators should invite students to explore the possibilities that are available to them with a working knowledge of the German language. If one can appeal to whatever interests them most – history, current affairs, film, international business, or the arts, for example – they will respond with enthusiasm. For parents and school administrators, there is a wealth of articles to convey the significance of your language program – why it should be maintained and sustained.

Today, some German programs are growing and others struggle. The German language, history and culture play an important role in the United States, and there are many valid reasons to support the efforts to offer German at school and in the community.
