  • Target Group
    Teachers of German in Australia with a very good knowledge of German, and a good knowledge of and experience with teaching methods and didactics.
  • Aims and Content
    Participant have the opportunity to update their socio-cultural knowledge of Germany and to review methodological and didactical issues in the teaching of German as a foreign language. In addition to attending a series of lectures, participants will go into the city with special assignments, visit institutions, note observations and ask questions. Discussions with German people provide an opportunity to refresh German language skills and expand the understanding of the geography, history and institutions of Germany. Experts will inform on the current state of German as a foreign language. The seminars aim to foster exchange of ideas and the development of teaching models in a group setting. The courses also offer a cultural program.

Professional Development Facilitators Scholarships

  • Target Group
    Teacher of German involved in further training & education of German language teachers in Australia. A very good knowledge of German and experience with German methodology and didactics are essential.
  • Aims and Content
    This program offers an overview of specialized aspects of foreign language learning and the possibility for an international exchange of experience with colleagues and experts. It also offers development of sequential modules for advanced training and seminars teaching observation. Aims are updating & extending of seminar-didactical knowledge for the basic and advanced training of DaF teacher; Development and maintenance of professional development expertise; Development and presentation of modules for advanced training; Meeting in international groups and exchange of expert assessments within the group and with German specialists.
