Nizar Alabdallah, a Syrian pharmacist specialized in genetic toxicology, lives and work in Sweden since 2009.
Born and raised in Syria until I was 17 years old. I grew up in a multicultural area, which was full of varieties and old traditions. The life was simple in the suburbs, full of ancient stories and methods of preparing food and using all the available resources in the nature.
I got obsessed with the nature, food and photography, and I learned how to do most of the local dishes from scratch, since we had to do it from scratch.
The goal of my work, is to present the dishes in a new way so it could be smooth and easy to understand our methods of cooking, and to keep the old school of village cooking alive.
