Sibel Kekilli (*1980) is a multiple award-winning actress. Her film debut "Against the Wall" (2004) has won numerous national and international awards, including the German Film Award for Best Actress or Best Actress at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. This was followed by other excellent productions such as "Winterreise", "Eve Dönüs" or the TV multi-part "Gier".

As best actress Sibel Kekilli will be honoured for her role in the movie "Die Fremde" for the 2nd time with the German Film Award and at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. "Die Fremde" is also a German contribution to one of the coveted Oscar nominations in the category "Best Non-English Language Film".
In addition to other film roles such as the successful comedy "What a Man" (2011), Sibel Kekilli was the detective in Kiel's "Tatort" from 2010 to 2017 and achieved worldwide fame through her role as Shae in the HBO success series "Game of Thrones".

Apart from acting, Sibel Kekilli is committed to women's rights. She has been Terre des Femmes' ambassador for many years and was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 2017 for her fight for equal rights for girls and women. She also supports the aid organisation Papatya, where she acts as patron of the online consultancy Sibel, and is a founding member of the women's network UNIDAS, with the aim of strengthening the rights of women between Latin America, the Caribbean and Germany.
