Until Our Hearts Stop - Meg Stuart

As part of the Festival TransAmériques

They dream of community. They probe each other with eyes and hands, they cling to each other, striving for black magic. In a night club – or is it a cellar? – they take part in an underground ceremony that promises to lead them to a mystical fusion of the initiated and the curious. To the sound of throbbing basses, piano and drums, Until Our Hearts Stop by Meg Stuart sheds light on the impossible encounters that define the human condition.

Sascha Hommer „In China“

Document of the week

Every week, we present a document from our collection that we find particularly interesting, captivating, informative or otherwise especially worth mentioning. This week:

Sascha Hommer „In China“ (Reprodukt 2016)

In 2011, Sascha Hommer travels to China. This is his second trip to the Middle Kingdom. He spends four months in the western Chinese megacity of Chengdu, where a friendly couple publishes a city magazine. With a population of 14 million, the capital of Sichuan is a 21st-century boomtown that is growing and developing unrestrained. In his travel journal "In China," Sascha Hommer addresses the absurd and abysmal everyday stories that a city like Chengdu produces.

Meet Sascha Hommer at the Festival de BD de Montréal at Espace Lafontaine:
Saturday, May 26, from 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm : Comics journalism
Sunday, May 27, from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Discussion

Also in our library by Sascha Hommer: Insekt (2006), Orang 6, 8, 10 (2006, 2009, 2013), Dri Chinisin (2011), Vier Augen (2009), Im Museum: Die Treppe zum Himmel (2008)
