Mohamed Ghanem is a youth activist from Egypt who has successfully participated in a number of projects within the Dialogue and Transition program. Back in 2016 he joined the strengthening structures and networks program, afterwards he was part of the training-of-trainers (TOT) for civic education to eventually become a trainer himself for this year’s TOT.
Within the framework of Alumni programs Mohamed was keen to contribute with his expertise to the community and his fellow alumni. As due to the pandemic many educational offers shifted to the digital space, Mohamed recognised the need for a training about "Tips and Tricks for Online Facilitation" than could help participants with creating their own interactive and appealing formats for their target audiences and overcoming challenges associated with online learning.

Another workshop he initiated was “Sustainable Development Goals for Change”, tailored to the local context. The purpose was to discuss the concept of sustainability in general and how it can be aligned with specific local projects to achieve these goals. On the other hand, participants were introduced to techniques for incorporating a sustainable lifestyle on an individual level to contribute in reaching the sustainable development goals.

Mohamed is further the founder of Agent of SDGs enterprise which aims to build the capacities of young people as “SDGs Agents and Advocates” to achieve Egypt’s 2030 agenda. Mohamed has devoted his career from early on to youth empowerment and community development. He is a committed member of the UN SDGs advocates programme and a regional certified civic education instructor from Goethe-Institut Cairo and the Center for Applied Policy Research (CAP) at the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich. In addition, Mohamed continues to be a motivated youth trainer in areas of debating skills, active citizenship, civic engagement, sustainable development, and social entrepreneurship.
