The Goethe-Institute Cairo is looking for a A Finance Manager for the initiative Enhancing the arts and cultural ecosystem in Egypt starting on October 15, 2025, or later.
The position is a 100% full-time position (currently 40 hours per week) subject to funding, limited until October 14, 2026, with the option of extension until spring/summer 2028.

Responsibilities
In this role the Finance Manager will be responsible for the initiatives financial control, planning and cash flow, ensuring appropriate budget monitoring. S/he will be the main financial contact point between the different partners and the Goethe-Institute. Her/his responsibilities will include financial control but will also extend to contractual oversight:
- Coordinate financial planning, administration and reporting with project partners
- maintain updated checklists with the financial and procurement requirements, as per to ensure alignment with the Goethe-Institutes internal guidelines and other regulations
- Verify all project expenditure
- Prepare project cash flow projections and regular internal financial reports
- Support and prepare project external audits and expenditure verifications
- Prepare financial reports to be included in the yearly project reports
- Supervise and support project contracting and procurement (sub-granting and service providers), archive contracts
- Contribute to training grantees on contractual reporting requirements. S/he will also undertake:
- Administrative tasks: Prepare a variety of administrative documentation; initiate administrative procedures/transactions and ensure follow-up, including payment follow-up in collaboration with the Administration Unit; collaborate with concerned officers and supervisor to ensure all works going according to the specific administrative processes and related procedures to support work Seite 2
- Privacy Notice: Your application materials will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws. They will be retained for a period of up to six months following the conclusion of the selection process. Thereafter, they will be securely and properly deleted in compliance with data protection regulations.

Our requirements - competencies:
- Relevant university degree (or equivalent), preferably in the fields of finance/accounting, economics, business administration
- 2-5 years of experience in budgetary planning, financial administration, monitoring and reporting in the context of large-scale projects
- Knowledge of relevant financial tools (e.g. SAP analysis
- Experience of working with international organizations
- Very good MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Attention to detail and ability to organize, organisational skills, ability to work in a team, communication skills, self-motivated and objective driven
- Experience of working in the cultural and creative field desired
- Proficiency with project planning software used by the Goethe-Institute would be an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of Arabic and English (oral, written, comprehension); knowledge of German would be an advantage
- Remuneration and benefits are based on the remuneration scheme of the Goethe-Institute Cairo.
