The Goethe-Institut London is looking for a Head of Communications and Library (M/F/D) to start on 24.06.2024. Employment will be full-time with 39 hours per week.

The starting salary in the Goethe-Institut’s remuneration scheme is £37.392. Annual leave starts with 26 days plus Bank Holidays. This increases depending on length of service. The Goethe-Institut also offers a contributory pension scheme.

Please note that the successful applicant requires a valid residence and work permit for the UK.
 

Duties Comprise:

As Head of Communications and Library you will be…
  • Managing the communications at the institute including website and social media presence in coordination with the Head of the Goethe-Institut London.
  • Designing and implementing online marketing measures in coordination with the Head of Language 
  • Managing the library
  • Further developing the library as a third space in co-operation with other departments and partners
  • Managing the multimedia collection.
  • Budget planning and monitoring in the department
 

Requirements:

  • Very good knowledge of German and English
  • Experience in leading teams
  • Experience in strategic communications management including social media and online marketing
  • Experience in designing and managing third places
  • Knowledge of the German cultural scene
  • Flexibility and reliability
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong social and intercultural skills
  • Team and communication skills
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • A residence and work permit for the United Kingdom
