Conversations with African Writers
The Literary Crossroads Series brings together African writers on the continent and from the diaspora to discuss contemporary trends and themes in literature.
In this session we host two of Africa’s most promising award-winning authors – Hawa Jande Golakai from Liberia, whose debut novel The Lazarus Effect was shortlisted for the 2011 Sunday Times Fiction and the University of Johannesburg Debut Prize and children’s books author Muthoni wa Gichuru from Kenia. Her young adult fictional title Breaking the Silence was the first runner up for the Jomo Kenyatta Literature Prize.
