Every summer since 2023, the Goethe-Institut Korea’s library has been transformed into a unique space for exploration and discovery. In 2023, it became the “Infinite Library,” a multimedia installation that brought together virtual reality and a variety of media experiences. In 2024, the library was reimagined as a soccer stadium inspired by UEFA EURO 2024, followed by a Bauhaus workshop concept in 2025.

With a new theme and design each year, the library continues to offer fresh ways to engage with learning, creativity, and cultural exchange. This year, it becomes the “Library Lab,” an open space for experimentation that invites visitors to discover new possibilities for what a library can be and how it can be used.

From July 6 through September 12, five teams will bring their own ideas and perspectives to the space, transforming the library through innovative installations and programs. Through curated projects, workshops, and small exhibitions, visitors are invited to experience the library as a place for creativity, participation, and meaningful exchange.

At the entrance of the Goethe-Institut Korea, a sign reads, “Open to all.” But what does it truly mean to create a space that is open to everyone?
