MOUNTAIN MIRACLE - an unexpected friendship (AMELIE RENNT)

Dir: Tobias Wiemann, 97 min, Germany, 2018

Young Amelie is fed up with her asthmatic illness; she is angry with everyone and everything, especially her parents and her doctors. After a grave asthma attack she is sent to South Tirol; Amelie is supposed to recover in a specialist clinic. But the young girl feels terrorized by the therapy and runs away into the mountains. The young Bart joins her, a stubborn and helpful companion. As the search for the escaped girl is getting started, Amelie arrives at her destination, the top of a mountain, with the help of Bart. While descending they come across a magical bonfire that symbolizes the promise of healing for the sick girl. In the end it is maybe the timid first love that gives Amelie new mental strength.
