Mareike Krügel
(born 1977 in Kiel), writer.
Mareike Krügel studied at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig. Since then she has worked as a freelance author. Her first novel Die Witwe, der Lehrer, das Meer was published in 2003. In addition to numerous scholarships, she has received the Förderpreis der Stadt Hamburg and the Friedrich Hebbel Prize. Mareike Krügel lives near Kappeln in Schleswig-Holstein.
