Amelie Fried
(born 06.09.1958 in Ulm), author, TV presenter
Amelie Fried studied various humanities and went on to study documentary film and TV publicity at the University of Television and Film in Munich. During this time she started working as a TV presenter. Her first book, Die StörenFrieds (i.e. The Troublemakers), was published in 1995. Three years later she published her novel Traumfrau mit Nebenwirkungen (i.e. Dream Woman with Side Effects). Amelie Fried received several TV prizes, including the Adolf Grimme Prize and the Bambi, and also won the German Children's Literature Prize for Hat Opa einen Anzug? (i.e. Does Grandpa Have a Suit?). She lives in Munich.
