Jan Wagner

Jan Wagner studied English in Hamburg, Dublin and Berlin. In 1995, together with Thomas Girst, he initiated the poetry project Die Außenseite des Elements - a collection of international poetry. In 2001 Jan Wagner's first book of poems, Probebohrung in Himmel, was published. This was followed by poem publications in literary magazines, further poetry volumes, translations from English and American, as well as prose and essays. The book Regentonnenvariationen (2014) was the first poetry book to win the Leipzig Book Fair Prize. Jan Wagner's many awards include the Georg Büchner Prize, the Mondsee Poetry Prize and the Kranichstein Literature Prize. He lives in Berlin.
