Magnus Brechtken
(born 21.03.1964 in Olsberg), historian
Magnus Brechtken studied history, political studies and philosophy and went on to do a doctorate. After his doctoral thesis he worked as a private lecturer in contemporary and recent history as a long-term DAAD lecturer at the University of Nottingham. Since 2012 he has been Vice Director of the Institute for Contemporary History in Munich. His biographical study of Albert Speer was published in 2017. A German career was honoured with the NDR Culture Prize for non-fiction works. Magnus Brechtken lives in Munich.
