Reinhard Kleist
(born 11.02.1970 in Hürth), graphic designer, comic artist.
Reinhard Kleist studied graphic design in Münster. Since then he has published many comics for various publishers. His first book, Minna, was published in 1994. Reinhard Kleist is best known for his comic biographies of sportsmen and musicians, such as Der Boxer. Die wahre Geschichte des Hertzko Haft (2011), Der Traum von Olympia. Die Geschichte der Samia Yusuf Omar (2015), Nick Cave - Mercy on me and Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds (both 2017). He has received numerous prizes such as the Gustav Heinemann Peace Prize, the Max and Moritz Prize, the Youth Literature Prize and the Lynx of the Year. Reinhard Kleist lives in Berlin.
