Walter Moers

(born 24.05.1957 in Mönchengladbach), writer, comic artist, illustrator.

Walter Moers is a self-taught draughtsman. He rarely appears in public. His first comics appeared in the mid-1980s in the satirical magazine Titanic, among others. His best-known characters include Das kleine Arschloch and Käpt'n Blaubär. For his book Die Stadt der träumenden Bücher, the fourth volume in the series of Zamonien novels, he was awarded the Fantastik-Preis der Stadt Wetzlar in 2005. Walter Moers lives in Hamburg.
